Love open-toed shoes, hate cold feet

OK, yes I know! It was like 75 today and I just decided to make ‘warmers’. I don’t really know what they are called. Those beanbag things you stick in the microwave and then put on your neck or feet to help warm you up.
You know what I’m talking about.
Well I made three of those today.
I had some left over flannel from some failed project and I decided to put it to good use.
Got a big bag of rice from wally world and pulled out the sawing machine.
Just cut the flannel to the size I wanted.
Put same sides together. Saw along three full edges and on the fourth leave a 1-1.5 inch hole for ‘stuffing’.
So here’s how they look before being filled.

Fill with rice. Not too full, you want the rice to be able to conform to where ever you decide to use the warmer.
Stitch up opening.
And here’s what you get.

Not the best thing I’ve ever done, but most definitely something I would do again. I think next time I will make sure that I get my seams sown better with more salvage on the inside. And although I think the two smaller ones will be great for putting on my feet while at work this summer, the other one isn’t really big enough to go around my neck comfortably. So I think I’ll have to play with sizes when making future warmers.

Still working on the blanket. About half way done, but got myself booked up the rest of the week so I probably wont be getting to finishing it for a while.

Tell me about it!
